Sakura Kishi [Japanese: 岸さくら] (28 September 1899 – 24 February 2011) was a Japanese supercentenarian whose age is validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG).
Biography[]
Sakura Kishi was born in Japan on 28 September 1899. Following the death of 108-year-old Tome Oyama on 7 January 2007, she became the oldest living person in Aomori Prefecture.
Kishi's age was verified by Japan's MHLW and Stefan Gelow, and validated by the GRG on 15 December 2010.
Kishi died of old age in a hospital in Hirakawa, Aomori Prefecture, Japan on 24 February 2011 at the age of 111 years, 149 days. She is currently the third-oldest person ever from Aomori Prefecture, behind Tetsu Ishii and Ai Maeda.
