Sammie Earl Howe (née Angle; 7 March 1887 – 12 September 1999) was a validated American supercentenarian.
Biography[]
Sammie Howe was born as Sammie Earl Angle in Greenville, Alabama, USA on 7 March 1887. Her parents were John Angle and Martha (née Belcher) Angle. She married very young (aged 16) to Percy Stickney. Together, they had a daughter called Ruth (1907–1965).
In 1912, the family travelled to Paris, France. On the way back home, they were part of the ship SS Carpathia, which rescued passengers that survived the Titanic disaster. Howe later divorced and remarried, this time to a banker from Florida. Howe was a fan of the basketball team Orlando Magic.
Sammie Howe died in Orlando, Florida, USA on 12 September 1999 at the age of 112 years, 189 days.
