Sara Corzo (31 March 1901? – 9 May 2019) was a Colombian longevity claimant who is now debunked.

Biography[]

Sara Corzo claimed to be born on 31 March 1901. Being homeless, without any known relative, and illiterate, she was brought to a nursing home in Barrancabermeja in 1974. In 2018, she was reported as the oldest living person in Colombia. She died on 9 May 2019, of heart failure.

Age Issues: Identity theft[]

Corzo's age became questioned when the family of another Sara Corzo realized she had the same ID card as their grandmother, who died in 1996 in Valledupar. All the informations on the 118-year-old's alleged ID card matched with the "real" Sara Corzo's identity. While the 118-year-old Sara Corzo claimed don't know how to write and read, the "real" Sara Corzo was able to write. The director of the nursing home where resided the 118-year-old woman took her fingerprints, and it was revealed that she was an anonymous; there are no informations about her, not even her age.
