Sarah Ellen Morgan (née Parkinson; 23 January 1867 – 12 February 1978) was a British supercentenarian who was the oldest living person in the United Kingdom at the time of her death. Her age has been validated by the Gerontology Research Group.
Biography
Morgan was born in Manchester, England on 23 January 1867. She died in Tonbridge, Kent, England on 12 February 1978 at the age of 111 years, 20 days.
Morgan became the oldest living person in the United Kingdom following the death of 110 year-old James Harrow on 14 December 1976. Following her own death 14 months, later, Lilias Williams became the UK's oldest living person.
At the time of her death, Morgan was the second-oldest documented person living in the world, after Frenchwoman Marie-Virginie Duhem.
