Sarah Frances "Fannie" Rockwell (née Pearce; 25 October 1843 – 23 November 1953) was American supercentenarian whose age was validated by Gerontology Research Group (GRG) on 11 November 2022.
Biography[]
Sarah Rockwell was born as Sarah Frances "Fannie" Pearce in Richmond, Henrico, Virginia. Her parents were Samuel and Nancy Ann Ford Pearce. She grew up in the Henrico area and worked as a nurse during the Civil War. After the war had ended she moved to Connecticut, where she met and married her husband Charles Rockwell in Danbury on 13 April 1873.
The couple had two daughters, Mary and Lena. She was widowed in 1918 and lived with her daughter Mary in Danbury following her husband's death. She spent her final years living with her daughter Lena in Danbury. Sarah Rockwell died in Danbury, Fairfield, Connecticut on 23 November 1953, aged 110 years, 29 days.
