Shigeno Nakamura [Japanese: 中村志げの] (21 January 1899 – 3 February 2009) was a Japanese supercentenarian whose age is validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG). At the time of her death, she was the oldest known person in Mie Prefecture.

Biography[]

Shigeno Nakamura was born in Takihara Village (now Taiki), Mie Prefecture, Japan on 21 January 1899. In January 2009, she celebrated her 110th birthday.

Nakamura's age was verified by Stefan Gelow and Japan's MHLW, and validated by the GRG on 12 February 2009.

Nakamura died of senility in Odai, Mie Prefecture, Japan on 3 February 2009, at the age of 110 years, 13 days. Following her death, then-108 years-old Shizue Miyazaki became the oldest known person in Mie Prefecture.
