Shitsuko Araki [Japanese: 荒木志つ子] (24 March 1898 – 3 June 2009) was a Japanese supercentenarian whose age is validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG).
Biography[]
Shitsuko Araki was born in Japan on 24 March 1898. Following the death of 110-year-old Masatake Kinoshita on 27 July 2008, she became the oldest living person in Okayama Prefecture.
Araki's age was verified by Japan's MHLW and Stefan Gelow, and validated by the GRG on 15 August 2008.
Shitsuko Araki died in Asakuchi, Okayama Prefecture, Japan on 3 June 2009, at the age of 111 years, 71 days.
