Shizue Nagata [Japanese: 永田静枝] (25 July 1903 – 12 April 2017) was a validated Japanese supercentenarian. She is currently the oldest validated person ever from Kumamoto Prefecture.
Biography[]
Shizue Nagata was born in Japan on 25 July 1903.
In September 2015, Nagata was reported as the second-oldest living resident of Kumamoto Prefecture, behind Masa Iseri.
She became the oldest known living resident in Kumamoto Prefecture, following the death of 113-year-old Masa Iseri on 5 March 2016.
She was a resident of the city of Yamaga. Nagata was validated by the GRG on 26 October 2015.[1][2]
At her 112th birthday in 2015, it was reported that Nagata had a very good appetite; she was interested in a lot of different subjects, and was very excited each year of the summer festivals. She went for the first time to a nursing home shortly before her 112th birthday.
Nagata died in Yamaga, Kumamoto Prefecture, Japan on 12 April 2017 at the age of 113 years, 261 days.[3]
