Signe Lundqvist (9 February 1910 – 23 September 2020) was a Swedish supercentenarian whose age was validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG) in 2022. At the time of her death, she was the second-oldest (known) living person in Sweden, behind Flarid Lagerlund, who was just one day older.
Biography[]
Lundqvist was born in Uppsala, Uppland, Sweden, on 9 February 1910. She grew up on a farm in Vangsby in Vange, which her father bought in 1904. She married Harry Lundqvist and they had 4 children. When she was young, she lived for a while in Bromma, Stockholm before returning to Uppsala with her husband.
At the age of 100, she moved to the retirement home on Svartbacksgatan in Uppsala, where she lived until her death. She celebrated her 110th birthday in February 2020.
Lundqvist died in Uppsala, Uppland, Sweden on 23 September 2020 at the age of 110 years, 227 days.
