Silfredo Kalinowski (12 January 1912 – 10 April 2022) was a Brazilian supercentenarian whose age is validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG) and by the Latin American Supercentenarians (LAS).

Biography[]

Silfredo Kalinowski was born in Curitiba, Parana, Brazil on 12 January 1912. His parents were Isidoro Zacharias Kalinowski (1880–1936) and Clara Kalinowski (1886–1953), both born in Brazil. He had Polish and German ancestry. He had at least three siblings.

He worked as an economist for nearly 35 years before retiring.

He married Maria Da Conceicao Santos de Almeida on 24 September 1941. The couple had two children: Gilda Maria and Luiz Fernando Kalinowski. He got widowed in 2002.

In October 2018, he voted in the 2018 Parana gubernatorial special election and in the Brazilian general election.

As of February 2021, he had six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. In January 2022, he celebrated his 110th birthday.

His age was validated by Latin American Supercentenarians (LAS), and later accepted by LongeviQuest (LQ).

Kalinowski died after he was in the ICU for 14 days after suffering a stroke in Londrina, Parana, Brazil on 10 April 2022 at the age of 110 years, 88 days.
