Sizernando Jose de Matos (25 February 1910 – 17 April 2020) was a Brazilian supercentenarian whose age was validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG) in 2020.
Biography[]
Sizernando Jose de Matos was born in Antas, Bahia, Brazil on 25 February 1910. In 1939, he moved to Itapitanga, where he established himself as a farm manager. He married Valentina de Mendonca Matos in 1941. The couple had at least three children: Sergio, Eleusa and Cecilia Mendonca. At the end of 2017, the City Council of Itapitanga granted Sizernando the title of Citizen Itapitanguense. His sister, Regina Francisca de Matos, turned 100 on 31 August 2018, and they were living together at that time.
Sizernando Jose de Matos died in Itapitanga, Bahia, Brazil on 17 April 2020 at the age of 110 years, 52 days.
