Stanislav Vecera [Czech: Stanislav Večeřa] (6 Novmber 1900 – 4 May 2007) was a Czech centenarian who was the oldest known living man in the Czech Republic at the time of his death.
Biography[]
Stanislav Večeřa born in Březí nad Oslavou, Vysočina Region, Austria-Hungary (now Czech Republic), on 6 November 1900. At some point, he married and with his wife Růžena had two sons, Jan, and Stanislav. His son Jan died in a traffic accident in 1958, son Stanislav died in 1989, and wife Růžena died in 1991.
Until he was 100 years old, he went to church in Nové Veselí, mowed the grass and never missed an election. His great hobby was hunting and he regularly played cards with his friends, usually tarot. He liked to eat fatty meat, he ate bacon from the home slaughterhouse. Even at the age of 105, he read Lidové noviny daily.
On 12 November 2005, following the death of 105-year-old Vojtěch Dvorský, he became the oldest known living man in the Czech Republic.
Stanislav Večeřa died in Březí nad Oslavou, Vysočina Region, Czech Republic, on 4 May 2007, at the age of 106 years, 179 days. Following his death, then 104-year-old Josef Flandera became the oldest known living man in the Czech Republic.
