Suoma Alexandra Korkee (née Lehtanen; 30 May 1886 – 1 August 1998) was an American-Finnish supercentenarian whose age is validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG).
Bigraphy
Suoma Korkee was born as Suoma Alexandra Lehtanen in Lavia, Satakunta, Finland (then part of Russian Empire) on 30 May 1886. She was the daughter of Fihtari Lehtanen and Hanrüka Lehtanen. She moved to Massachusetts, United States, in 1907. In 1920, she married Sven Alfred Korkee (8 March 1883 – 17 August 1967). Her daughter, Nina Korkee Pace died on 9 January 1998.
Korkee died in Raynham, Massachusetts, United States on 1 August 1998 at the age of 112 years, 77 days. At the time of her death, she was the oldest person ever born in Finland.
She remains the second-oldest person ever born in Finland (behind Maria Rothovius) and the oldest emigrant from Finland.
