Suzanne Massoutie [French: Massoutié] (née Ginestet; 16 December 1911 – 17 April 2022) was a French supercentenarian whose age is currently unvalidated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG).

Biography

Suzanne Massoutie was born as Suzanne Ginestet in Gaillac, Tarn, Occitanie, France on 16 December 1911. However, she claimed to have been born on 14 December 1911, and that her parents registered her two days later.

In 1932, she married Pierre Massoutie, the son of a baker in Brens. She then worked as a baker during 31 years, near the church of Brens. The couple had three children: Henri, Marie-Louise, and Alain.

On her 100th birthday in 2011, Massoutie was visited by the mayor of Brens. The ADMR of the town organized a birthday party for her.

On her 106th birthday in 2017, Massoutie was visited by the 11 members of the city council for youth of Brens. At the time, she was still living in her own house in the town, and hadn't any health problem. She said: "The doctor visits me every month, but he never founds anything, except that I see less clearly."

She became the oldest known living person in Tarn department, following the death of 110-year-old Leontine Escande on 5 March 2022.

She lived in the nursing home Saint-Francois in Cadalen.

Massoutie died in Cadalen, Tarn, Occitanie, France, on 17 April 2022 at the age of 110 years, 122 days. At the time of her death, she was the fourth-oldest known living person in Occitanie, behind Madeleine Reboul, Marie-Henriette Turlais, and Jacqueline Bossard, as well as the oldest known living person in Tarn department.
