Takano Akita [Japanese: 秋田たかの] (10 February 1894 – 19 May 2004) was a Japanese supercentenarian whose age is validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG).
Biography[]
Takano Akita was born in Kurashiki, Okayama Prefecture, Japan on 10 February 1894.
Following the death of 109-year-old Tsuru Yamane on 22 January 2001, Akita became the oldest living person in Okayama Prefecture. Her age was verified by Japan's MHLW and the IDL, and (posthumously) validated by the GRG on 11 November 2012.
Takano Akita died in Yorishima, Okayama Prefecture, Japan on 19 May 2004 at the age of 110 years, 99 days. At the time of her death, she was the oldest living person in Okayama Prefecture.
