Tari Chiba [Japanese: 千葉タリ] (19 January 1907 – 20 June 2019) was a Japanese supercentenarian whose age is validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG). She was the oldest known living woman in Hokkaido Prefecture, Japan, since the death of Seki Inagaki on 14 December 2018 and the oldest living person in the Hokkaido Prefecture since the death of Masazo Nonaka on 20 January 2019. 

Biography

Tari Chiba was born in the Aomori Prefecture, Japan on 19 January 1907. She moved to Rikubetsu, Hokkaido Prefecture at a young age. She married Masayoshi Chiba in the 1920s and had 11 children (five boys and six girls) with him. The couple were married for 80 years before Masayoshi passed away. As of her 111th birthday in 2018, she had 22 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. On 19 January 2019, she celebrated her 112th birthday. Her age was validated by the Gerontology Research Group on 26 April 2019.

Tari Chiba died in Rikubetsu, Hokkaido Prefecture, Japan at the age of 112 years, 152 days.
