Tereza de Jesus Amparan [Spanish: Jesús Amparán] (15 October 1887 – 2 August 1998) was a Mexican-American supercentenarian whose age is validated by Latin American Supercentenarians (LAS).
Biography
She was born in San Jose, Hidalgo del Parral, Chihuahua, Mexico, on 15 October 1887. She was the eldest of 12 children. Her parents were Martin Amparan (died in 1928) and Gregoria Beltran (died in 1927). She emigrated to the Unites States in 1916. She never married nor had children. Two of her sisters died at the age of 102, and one at the age of 101, one of her brothers at the age of 102, and another at the age of 94.
She died in Laredo, Webb County, Texas, USA, on 2 August 1998 at the age of 110 years, 291 days.[1][2]
Her age was validated by the LAS in January 2020. The validation was later accepted by LongeviQuest (LQ). Additionally, her case is mentioned as pending by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG).[3]
