Teresa Bottazzi Ceva (14 August 1915 – 3 September 2024) was an Italian-born Uruguayan centenarian who was the oldest living person in Uruguay at the time of her death.
Biography[]
Teresa Bottazzi Ceva was born in Tortona, Piedmont, Italy on 14 August 1915. At some point, she married Oreste Vaccari and had three children: Carlo (1938), Ugo (1942) and Piero (1947). During her youth, she worked in a chocolate and nougat factory. In 1951, she permanently moved to Uruguay.
On 22 August 2024, following the death of 109-year-old Maria Souto Martinez, she became the oldest living person in Uruguay.
Teresa Bottazzi Ceva died in Piriapolis, Maldonado, Uruguay on 3 September 2024 at the age of 109 years, 20 days.
