Biography[]
Tetsu Ishii was born in Tomai, Aomori Prefecture, Japan (Tome Village (now Ninohe), Iwate Prefecture according to her death mention) on 15 September 1904. Following the death of 109-year-old Ritsu Kudo on 7 July 2013, she became the oldest living person in Aomori Prefecture.
On her 110th birthday in 2014, Ishii was recuperating in the hospital since she hurt her leg. Her eldest son, Yoshikazu, said that her secret to longevity was her generous personality.
