Tetsuo Shinya [Japanese: 新屋哲雄] (27 March 1911 – 29 January 2022) was a Japanese supercentenarian whose age is currently unvalidated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG).
Biography[]
Tetsuo Shinya was born in Kawanabe (now part of Minamikyushu), Kagoshima Prefecture, Japan on 27 March 1911. In March 2021, he celebrated his 110th birthday and became a supercentenarian.
Tetsuo Shinya died in Minamikyushu, Kagoshima Prefecture, Japan on 29 January 2022 at the age of 110 years, 308 days. At the time of his death, he was the oldest living man in Kagoshima Prefecture, and the fourth-oldest known living man in Japan, behind Mikizo Ueda, Shigeru Nakamura and Shiro Moriyama.
