Biography
McLeod was born in Coolgardie, Western Australia. She was the daughter of a butcher. She met her husband, Colin, on a blind date in the 1920s and they married in 1934.
McLeod moved to a care home in Cottesloe, Western Australia, in December 2001. She later had two hip replacements, the most recent of which was in April 2015 when she was 108. She became the oldest living Australian-born person following the death of Marjorie Cooke on 1 September 2017. However, she was not the oldest living person in Australia, as UK-born Margaret Vivian was nearly one year older.
McLeod died on 19 July 2018 at the age of 111 years, 156 days. At the time of her death, she had five grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
