Theodor Johannesson (18 September 1913 – 3 September 2018) was an Icelandic centenarian. He was the oldest living man in Iceland after the death of Jon Hannesson, on 26 November 2017, until his own death on 3 September 2018.
Biography[]
Theodor Johannesson was born in Bergstaoastraeti, Reykjavik, Iceland on 8 September 1913. At the age of 5, he lost his mother to Spanish Flu, and was forced to move to Dalasysla, where he remained until he was 12. After graduating, Theodor worked first with his brother in a meat shop, then with Icelandic Airlines until he was 75 years old. He married and had four children.
Theodor celebrated his 104th birthday with all of his relatives on 18 September 2017.
Johannesson died on 3 September 2018, in a nursing home in Mork, Iceland, at the age of 104 years, 350 days.
