Thordis Filippusdottir [Icelandic: þórdís Filippusdóttir] (7 May 1917 – 20 June 2022) was an Icelandic centenarian who was the oldest known living person in Iceland at the time of her death.
Biography[]
Thordis Filippusdottir was born in Reykjavik, Iceland on 7 May 1917. Her parents were Ingveldur Johannsdottir (1873–1959) and Filippus Ámundason (1877–1975). In May 2017, she celebrated her 100th birthday.
After the death of Nanna Franklinsdottir on 11 February 2022, she became the oldest known living person in Iceland. Having inherited the title at the age of 104 years and 9 months, it was also the first time since 2008–2009 where there were no living persons in Iceland known to be at least 105 years old.
Filippusdottir died in Reykjavik, Iceland on 20 June 2022, at the age of 105 years, 44 days.
