Tranquilina Urrutia Roque (6 July 1912 – 17 March 2024) was a Mexican supercentenarian whose age is validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG). At the time of her death, she was the oldest known living person in Mexico.

Biography[]

Tranquilina Urrutia Roque was born in Oaxaca, Mexico on 6 July 1912. She had at least two daughters, Irena and Petra.

At the age of 108, she received the COVID-19 vaccine, making her one of the oldest known people to receive the vaccine.

In July 2022, she celebrated her 110th birthday and became a supercentenarian.

She became the oldest known (documented) living person in Mexico, following the death of 113-year-old Susana Gutierrez Godoy on 5 January 2024.

Tranquilina Urrutia Roque died in Valerio Trujano, Oaxaca, Mexico on 17 March 2024 at the age of 111 years, 255 days. Following her death, then 111-year-old Eulalia Bravo Bravo became the oldest known living person in Mexico.
