Ura Karazawa [Japanese: 唐沢うら] (8 July 1899 – 21 November 2010) was a Japanese supercentenarian whose age is validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG).
Biography[]
Ura Karazawa was born in Hamamatsu, Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan on 8 July 1899.
Following the death of 110-year-old Kayo Miyazaki on 8 February 2008, Karazawa became the oldest living person in Shizuoka Prefecture. As of September 2010, she was living in Tenryu Ward, Hamamatsu.
Karazawa's age was verified by Japan's MHLW and Stefan Gelow, and (posthumously) validated by the GRG on 10 April 2011.
Ura Karazawa died in Hamamatsu, Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan on 21 November 2010, at the age of 111 years, 136 days.
