Vasily Dmitrievich Zykov, [Russian: Василий Дмитриевич Зыков] (24 July 1884 – 12 September 1994) was a Russian supercentenarian who is supposedly the oldest man ever from Russia and the country's only male supercentenarian so far. His age is currently unvalidated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG).
Biography[]
Vasily Zykov was born in the Russian Empire on 24 July 1884 (O.S. 11 July 1884).
Zykov became the oldest known living man in Russia (then part of USSR) on 29 January 1990 following the death of 106-year-old Stefan Efimovich Ionov.
On 20 June 1992 Zykov broke record of Gerasim Tikhonovich Stanislavchik (1865-1973) and became the oldest known Russian man ever who lived there.
Zykov became the oldest known living person in Russia on 3 November 1992 following the death of 109-year-old Nadezdha Kondrashova.
On 24 July 1994 he celebrated his 110th birthday and became a supercentenarian. He was the first man in Russia to reach this age.
Vasily Zykov died in Sverdlovsk Oblast, Russia, on 12 September 1994 at the age of 110 years, 50 days. He is supposedly the oldest man ever to be born and to die in Russia.
