Victor Chanca Santos (14 June 1910 – 9 November 2022), known as "Don Cumpita", was a Peruvian supercentenarian whose age is validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG). At the time of his death, he was the oldest known living person in Peru.
Biography[]
Victor Chanca Santos was born in Hongos District, Yauyos Province, Lima Region, Peru on 14 June 1910. He worked as a farmer.
As of September 2019, he had eight children, 44 grandchildren (including Julio Cesar Chanca Chupallo, the mayor of the Pacaran District), and 136 great-grandchildren.
In June 2020, he celebrated his 110th birthday and became a supercentenarian. He became the oldest known living man and person in Peru, following the death of 110-year-old Jose Guillermo Mogollon Munoz on 12 February 2021.
Victor Chanca Santos died in Pacaran District, Canete Province, Lima Region, Peru on 9 November 2022, at the age of 112 years, 148 days.
