Vida Ursic [Slovenian: Vida Uršič] (20 April 1903 – 29 October 2011) was a Slovenian centenarian who was the oldest known living person in Slovenia at the time of her death.
Biography[]
Vida Ursic was born in the village of Orehovica, municipality of Sentjernej, Lower Carniola, Austria-Hungary (present-day Slovenia) on 20 April 1903. Vida was a teacher by profession. Her father was a school director, and her mother a teacher, and she also married a teacher, Anton, who fell in the partisans during World War II. They had a daughter, Wanda, who lived in Ljubljana.
She became the oldest known living person in Slovenia following the death of 110-year-old Katarina Marinic on 2 September 2010.
Ursic died in Ljubljana, Slovenia on 29 October 2011 at the age of 108 years, 192 days. Following her death, then-106-year-old Ana Marija Kern became the oldest known living person in Slovenia.
