Vitomir Bozic [Serbian: Витомир Божић ] (15 November 1912 – 20 May 2017) was a Serbian centenarian who was the oldest known living man in Serbia at the time of his death.
Biography[]
Vitomir Bozic was born in the village of Gornja Tresnjevica near Arandjelovac, Serbia on 15 November 1912. He learned the trade in Belgrade in the famous department store Mitic. He served in the army in the then elite unit of cyclists in Ljubljana, Slovenia. Upon his return to his native village, he opened a trade shop and engaged in trade until the middle of the Second World War, when due to the invasion of various armies he switched to agriculture. He was married to Olga Kuzmanovic (who died in 1995) with whom he had five children: four daughters (Divna, Dafina, Lepana, and Stanica-Cana) and a son Milic. In 2017, Vitomir had 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
He became the oldest known living man in Serbia, following the death of 106-year-old Branko Kurjacki on 28 February 2017.
Bozic died in Arandjelovac, Serbia on 20 May 2017 at the age of 104 years, 186 days. Following his death, then-103-year-old Stepan Dobricanovic became the oldest known living man in Serbia.
