Vojtech Dvorsky [Czech: Vojtěch Dvorský] (16 November 1899 – 12 November 2005) was a Czech centenarian who was the oldest known living man in the Czech Republic at the time of his death.
Biography[]
Vojtěch Dvorský was born in Štarnov, Olomouc Region, Austria-Hungary (now Czech Republic), on 16 November 1899, to parents Jakub Dvorský (1869–1959) and Marie Dvorská (1876–1952). He was veteran who fought in the ranks of the Austro-Hungarian army in the Italian Pijava during the World War I. At some point, he married his wife Miloslava Dvorská (1902–1978), and they had one son. He was originally a private farmer, but after 1948 he had to stop farming. Later he worked in a local cooperative.
On 16 November 1999, he celebrated her 100th birthday, becoming a centenarian. He spent his entire life in his native village and remained vital even into his centenarian years.
On 16 March 2005, following the death of 105-year-old Julius Kubelka, he became the oldest known living man in the Czech Republic.
Vojtěch Dvorský died in Štarnov, Olomouc Region, Czech Republic, on 12 November 2005, at the age of 105 years, 361 days. Following his death, then 105-year-old Stanislav Večeřa became the oldest known living man in the Czech Republic.
