Waki Muneta [Japanese: 宗田ワキ] (22 March 1893 – 20 January 2005) was a Japanese supercentenarian whose age is validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG).
Biography[]
Waki Muneta was born in Japan on 22 March 1893.
Following the death of 114-year-old Mitoyo Kawate on 13 November 2003, Muneta became the oldest living person in Hiroshima Prefecture. Her age was verified by Nobuko Endo and MHLW, Japan, and validated by the GRG on 15 September 2004.
Waki Muneta died in Kui, Hiroshima Prefecture, Japan on 20 January 2005 at the age of 111 years, 304 days. At the time of her death, she was the fifth-oldest living person in Japan, after Ura Koyama, Kame Higa, Yone Minagawa, and Tane Komine.
