Wang Shue (25 November 1878 – 5 October 1988) was a Chinese-born Singaporean centenarian.
Biography[]
Wang Shue was born in Fujian, China on 25 November 1878 and migrated to Singapore in 1956. She lived in Jalan Hwi Yoh and worked as a pig farmer. In 1985, she moved to Serangoon North.
Wang had two sons and three daughters. According to a daughter-in-law, Wang's secret to a long life was never worrying, feeling contented and having a dedicated work attitude.
Wang lived through the Qing Dynasty, the Kuomintang period, and communist rule in China, passing away on 5 October 1988, at the age of 109 years, 315 days. She was survived by one daughter and over 50 grandchildren. It is believed that Wang was the oldest woman in Singapore at the time of her death.
