William Archer Fullingim (7 July 1855 – 6 August 1965) was a validated American supercentenarian.
Biography
He was born in Clarksville, Texas, USA on 7 July 1855, the youngest of five siblings. His parents were William J. and Catharine Eliza Fullingim. At the age of 18, he started working on a ranch. He later worked in the cattle business and as a butcher.
On 11 August 1879, he married Nancy Watson (1860–1964). The couple had three children in total. One of them, Madge (1891–1989), lived to be 97 years old. The family later moved to Oklahoma.
When asked if he had any advice for living a long life, he said "No, because no one would take it if I gave it".
He was married to his wife from 11 August 1879 until 25 April 1964, which would mean a marriage that lasted 84 years, 258 days. They were the world's longest known married couple.
Fullingim died in Lawton, Oklahoma, USA on 6 August 1965 at the age of 110 years, 30 days. Nancy died the year before at the age of 103. He was the world's oldest verified living person. However if the pending case, James Monroe King's age is true, he would have been the world's second-oldest living person as well as man.
