Centenarian

William Alfred Stewart (3 February 1910 – 28 January 2020) was an Australian centenarian who was the second-oldest living man in Australia behind Dexter Kruger at the time of his death. He is currently the sixth-oldest man ever from Australia and the oldest man to die before reaching supercentenarian status (exculding the disputed case of Thomas Robinson).

Biography[]

Stewart was born in Western Australia, Australia on 3 February 1910. He married Kathleen Mary Duffell (now deceased) in 1940 and had three children: Kevin (now deceased), Colin, and Peter. On his 109th birthday, he still lived at home with care from his family.

Stewart died in Perth, Western Australia, Australia, on 28 January 2020 at the age of 109 years, 359 days, six days before what would have been his 110th birthday. He was survived by two of his children (Colin and Peter) and two daughters-in-law (Anne and Rosanne).
