Winnie Lee Felps (née Powell; born 10 October 1911) is an American supercentenarian who is currently the oldest known living person in the U.S. state of Texas. Her age is validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG).

Biography[]

Winnie Felps was born as Winnie Lee Powell in Coryell County, Texas, USA on 10 October 1911 to Bunyan Polk and Fannie Belle (née Newman) Powell. She had at least eight siblings. On Christmas Eve in 1935, she married her husband, Ralph Felps, in Lampasas County, Texas. The couple had eight children: Dorothy, Jimmie, Randy, Barbara, Sandra, Brenda, Ralph Jr., and Winnie Lee. Ralph Felps died in November 1982, after nearly 47 years of marriage.

In October 2021, Felps celebrated her 110th birthday and became a supercentenarian.

Felps' age was verified by the Oliver Trim, Karen Dunn Speir, and Waclaw Jan Kroczek, and validated by the GRG on 28 October 2023.

Following the death of 115-year-old Elizabeth Francis of Houston on 22 October 2024, Felps became the oldest known living person in the U.S. state of Texas.
