Winonah Greene (née Peters; 13 January 1906 – 18 October 2016) was an American supercentenarian whose age is validated by the Gerontology Research Group.
Biography[]
Winonah was born as Winonah Peters in Petersburg City, Virginia, USA, on 13 January 1906. Greene earned a masters degree in home economics from Virginia State College, now Virginia State University. Her mother, a teacher, influenced her choice of careers. Greene taught home economics to middle school students in Virginia and Pennsylvania for 20 years and then worked for another two decades as a clerk in the Veterans Administration offices in Pennsylvania. She married Ervie Green in 1942. Her husband passed away in 1983.
Greene died in Brooksville, Florida, USA, on 18 October 2016 at the age of 110 years, 279 days.
