Xinye Liang (12 August 1906? – 27 September 2017) was a Chinese-Canadian supercentenarian whose age is currently unvalidated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG).
Biography[]
Xinye Liang claimed to have been born in a small rural village in Guangdong Province, Qing dynasty (China) on 12 August 1906. She had seven siblings.
Liang married when she was a teen, and had seven children (including three sons who have predeceased her), who later gave her 19 grandchildren (two predeceased) and 23 great-grandchildren. She spent a part of her life in Taishan County, Jiangmen, Guangdong.
At the claimed age of 88, Liang emigrated to Canada. She earned Canadian citizenship at the claimed age of 100. In September 2015, at the claimed age of 109, she was visited by Luo Zhaohui, the Chinese ambassador in Canada.
Liang died in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada on 27 September 2017, at the claimed age of 111 years, 46 days.
