Yae Sakurai [Japanse: 櫻井八重] (16 July 1909 – fl.1 January 2021) was a Japanese supercentenarian whose age is currently unvalidated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG).
Biography[]
Sakurai was born in Japan on 16 July 1909. In July 2019, she celebrated her 110th birthday.
Sakurai was last known to be alive in Suginami, Tokyo Prefecture, Japan on 1 January 2021 at the age of 111 years, 169 days. On 1 February 2021, she went to limbo as a 109-year-old woman was listed as the oldest living person in Suginami in city statistics.
