Yap Lay Hong (1918 – 19 September 2021) was a Singaporean centenarian.

Biography[]

Yap had been a former resident of the Lee Ah Mooi Old Age Home in Thomson.

At 102, it was reported that Yap was discharged from Tan Tock Seng Hospital on 1 May 2020 after a cluster of 16 staff and residents (Yap included) had contracted COVID-19 at the Home. She was reportedly Singapore's oldest COVID-19 survivor.

Over a year later, the Home announced on their Facebook page that Yap had passed away in the early hours of 19 September 2021, aged 103, after experiencing intestinal blockage. She was survived by two sons and two daughters, as well as 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. One other son had predeceased her.
