Yoshi Kitada [Japanese: 北田ヨシ] ( 27 March 1913 - 7 February 2024) was a Japanese supercentenarian whose age was validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG) in 2024.

Biography[]

Yoshi Kitada was born in Munedaka, Takasaki, Gunma Prefecture, Japan on 27 March 1913. She had three children and worked on the family farm until she was 90 years old. She is said to be good at the nursery rhyme "Medaka no Gakko" [Japanese: めだかの学校] and sings it often, and her chief caregiver, Hiromi Mita [Japanese: 三田宏美], introduced her as "Expressing a lot of emotions. She's bright and a mood maker." Her favorite foods are egg bolo and amazake, which she eats as soon as they are served.

In March 2023, Kitada celebrated her 110th birthday and became a supercentenarian.

Yoshi Kitada lived in Ino, Takasaki, Gunma Prefecture, Japan and died at the age of 110 years, 317 days. She was the oldest known living person in Gunma Prefecture when died.
