Yoshi Obuchi (Japanese: 大渕ヨシ; 22 October 1905 – 16 December 2015) was a Japanese supercentenarian whose age is validated by Gerontology Research Group (GRG).
Biography[]
Obuchi was born in Noshiro, Akita Prefecture, Japan, on 22 October 1905. Around 1949 she started living in Omachi with her husband. She was running a clothing store for a while after her husband's death in the mid-1960s.
Following the death of 109-year-old Masaji Ishikawa on 3 July 2014, Obuchi became the oldest living person in Akita Prefecture. She lived in Omachi, Noshiro, Akita.
Obuchi died of pneumonia at a hospital in Noshiro, Akita Prefecture, Japan, at 7:50 PM of 16 December 2015, at the age of 110 years, 55 days.
