Yoshi Terai [Japanese: 寺井よし] (9 January 1880 – 22 April 1991) was a Japanese supercentenarian whose age was validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG) on 13 August 2018. At the time of her death, she was the fifth-oldest living person in Japan, after Waka Shirahama, Rin Aoyagi, Tane Ikai, and Take Abe.

Biography[]

Yoshi Terai was born in Japan on 9 January 1880. Following the death of 103-year-old Riu Takagi on 13 November 1983, she became the oldest living person in Tottori Prefecture.

Yoshi Terai died in Nawa (now Daisen), Tottori Prefecture, Japan on 22 April 1991, at the age of 111 years, 103 days. She was the oldest person ever from Tottori Prefecture for almost 29 years, until Toshie Yasuda surpassed her age on 13 February 2020.
