Yu Baozhen [Chinese: 余宝珍] (born 27 March 1913) is a Chinese supercentenarian whose age is currently unvalidated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG).

Biography[]

Yu Baozhen was allegedly born on 27 March 1913 by solar calendar in Baiqu Village, Jinhui Town, Fengxian District, Shanghai, China.

In June 2017, she was visited by young pioneers from Qixian school (situated in Fengxian District) to celebrate her 104th birthday (105th by Chinese age counting) at her nursing home.

In October 2021, Yao was reported as the ninth-oldest living woman in Shanghai. At the time, she was still able to see, hear and speak clearly, and was still able to do needlework. She liked eating steeped vegetables and soja-based products, but didn't eat much meat, fish and shrimps. She was described as kind, optimistic, and never angry. Every morning, she combed her hair and did exercise after breakfast.

In October 2022, she was reported as the fifth-oldest living woman in Shanghai, after Wu Zhicheng, Ni Xiuying, Yao Fengzhen and Jin Fuzhen.

Yu Baozhen currently lives in Yixian nursing home in Jinhui Town, Fengxian District, Shanghai, China, at the age of 112 years, 256 days. She is currently the oldest living person in Fengxian District, Shanghai.
