Yuki Aizawa (Japanese: 相澤ユキ; 18 November 1908 – 8 May 2019) was a Japanese supercentenarian whose age is validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG).
Biography[]
Aizawa was born in Hakodate, Hokkaido Prefecture, Japan on 18 November 1908. She later moved to Iwate Prefecture.
Upon the death of 109-year-old Miho Sato on 8 August 2018, Aizawa became the oldest person in Iwate Prefecture. She passed away of natural causes in Morioka, Iwate Prefecture, Japan, on 8 May 2019 at around 5 AM. She was the first Japanese supercentenarian who died in Reiwa period, just a week after Emperor Naruhito ascended to the throne.
