Zaide claimed to be born on 17 May 1901 in village Brest (probably Cucer-Sandevo Municipality), Ottoman Empire (present-day Republic of Macedonia) to Albanian parents. Allegedly, her mother passed away at the age of 112. Her husband and father-in-law were killed in 1944/1945 in Lipkovo Municipality. At that time, her youngest child was 3 years old. She had 8 children. Zaide raised her children alone. She moved to village Aracinovo in 1960.

Zaide Hasani Sali (Macedonian: Заиде Хасани Сали; 17 May 1902 – 24 December 2011) was a Macedonian centenarian who at the time of her death was the oldest person in Macedonia and probably the oldest person from Macedonia ever.

Biography

Zaide was born in the village of Brest (probably Cucer-Sandevo Municipality), Ottoman Empire (present-day Republic of Macedonia) on 17 May 1902 (claimed 1901) to Albanian parents. Her husband and father-in-law were killed in 1944/1945 in Lipkovo Municipality. At that time, her youngest child was 3 years old. She had eight children. Zaide raised her children alone. In 1960, she moved to the village of Aracinovo.

At the age of 109, she had over 140 descendants (including great-great-grandchildren). She could walk even at the age of 109. She claimed to never visited hospital, received an injection nor take tablet.
