Zaide Hasani Sali (Macedonian: Заиде Хасани Сали; 17 May 1902 – 24 December 2011) was a Macedonian centenarian who was the oldest known living person in Macedonia at the time of her death. She was probably the oldest known person ever from Macedonia until 20 August 2023 when her age was surpassed Fikrije Loki.

Biography[]

Zaide Hasani Sali was born in the village of Brest, Cucer-Sandevo Municipality, Skopje Statistical Region, Ottoman Empire, (present-day Republic of North Macedonia) on 17 May 1902 (claimed 1901) to Albanian parents. Her husband and father-in-law were killed in 1944/1945 in the Lipkovo Municipality. At that time, her youngest child was 3 years old. She had eight children. Zaide raised her children alone. In 1960, she moved to the village of Aracinovo, where she spent the rest of her life.

At the age of 109, she had over 140 descendants (including great-great-grandchildren). She could walk even at the age of 109. She claimed to never visited hospital, received an injection nor take tablet.

Zaide Hasani Sali died in Aracinovo, Aracinovo Municipality, Skopje Statistical Region, Republic of Macedonia, (present-day Republic of North Macedonia) on 24 December 2011 at the age of 109 years, 221 days.
