Zaide Hasani Sali (Macedonian: Заиде Хасани Сали; 17 May 1901 – 24 December 2011) was a Macedonian supercentenarian whose age is currently unvalidated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG). If validated, she would be the oldestverified person who ever lived in Republic of Macedonia.
Biography
Zaide claimed to have been born on 17 May 1901 in the village of Brest (probably Cucer-Sandevo Municipality), Ottoman Empire (present-day Republic of Macedonia) to Albanian parents. Allegedly, her mother passed away at the age of 112. Her husband and father-in-law were killed in 1944/1945 in Lipkovo Municipality. At that time, her youngest child was 3 years old. She had 8 children. Zaide raised her children alone. In 1960, she moved to the village of Aracinovo.
At the claimed age of 109, she had over 140 descendants (including great-great-grandchildren). She could walk even at the age of 110. She claimed to never visited hospital, received an injection nor take tablet.
Zaide died on the evening of 24 December 2011 in Aracinovo, Republic of Macedonia at the claimed age of 110 years, 221 days.
