Dr. Zheng Ji (6 May 1900? — 29 July 2010) was a Chinese professor, biochemist, nutritionist, and supercentenarian who is currently unverified.
Biography[]
Zheng Ji was born on 6 May 1900 in Nanxi, Sichuan, China. In October 2008, he met then-111-year-old papercut master Hu Jiazhi, the oldest living woman (and person) in Nanjing at this time.
At the time of his death, Zheng Ji was the oldest practicing professor, and is considered "the father of modern nutritional science". He died on 29 July 2010 in Nanjing, Jiangsu, China at the age of 110 years, 84 days. He had a PHD in biochemistry from Ohio State University, and wrote a book on healthy living in 2009. During his youth, due to illness, he had to take time off from school.
