Zinaida Gavrilovna Chernova (Russian: Зинаида Гаврилова Чернова; born 11 October 1914) is a Russian supercentenarian whose age is not validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG). She is currently the oldest known living person in Kemerovo Oblast.

Biography[]

Zinaida Chernova was born in Perm Krai, on 11 October 1914, during the beginning of the First World War. Her three older brothers went off to war but never returned home. When she was 10, her father passed away. She was the youngest in her family, her mother gave birth to her at the age of 50.

There were no more men left in the family. So, the Chernov family moved to the Altai Krai. In order to survive in those hard times, they had to work on a collective farm. As a child, Zinaida already understood that food comes with hard work. Together with her older sister, she worked in logging and additionally wove and braided bast shoes for sale. Zinaida and her older sister worked in logging; in addition, the sisters wove and braided bast shoes for sale.

Zinaida Gavrilovna admits that the secret of her longevity is in her work. She always had a large farm, and in times of famine she also wove and braided bast shoes for sale. Now the pensioner, although she lives in an apartment and not in a private house, still never sits idle.

Since 1963, Zinaida Gavrilovna has lived in Kaltan. The supercentenarian has 3 children, 14 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren.

She currently lives in Kemerovo Oblast at the age of 111 years, 56 days.
